Judith Barker is a talented and successful three day eventer, competing both nationally and internationally.
It is a background that has given her a wealth of practical and progressive experience: experience that brings an undeniable edge in helping others hone their techniques.
Not content simply to rely on this experience and well-proven ability, Judith has undertaken all the courses and exams required to become a fully qualified British Eventing and British Show Jumping Level 3 coach. An achievement unequalled by any other equestrian coach in North Norfolk. Complementing this highly-regarded qualification, Judith has The British Horse Society’s Stage 3 in Riding and Horse Care.
Additionally, she has undertaken courses with leading rider physiotherapist Andy Thomas, involving the recognition of rider asymmetry. A small part of what she learned can be seen today in her regular use of asymmetry bands as an aid to improving rider performance. She has also studied with highly acclaimed sports psychologist Charlie Unwin, and, in 2016, was recognised in the highly regarded, annual ‘Bridging the Gap Scholarship’ with world-class event rider, Sir Mark Todd.
Today, Judith is regularly coaching mixed ability levels in show-jumping, dressage and cross-country, often using a specialist coaching video camera and playbacks to analyse rider performance – particularly valuable in monitoring achievement over a series of coaching sessions.
From novices to experienced competitors, for single riders or small groups, Judith Barker delivers tailored coaching to suit.
